TECH4EFFECT joined four other H2020/BBI-JU projects in a RTDS led Green Week Partner Event on 8 June and discussed the crucial role of industry-academic partnership in the circular bio economy aiming for zero pollution.

This is in line with the goals of the European Commission’s Green Deal, as part of the Paris Agreement, to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Europe aims to be climate neutral by 2050.

Accordingly, the European Commission has adopted an action plan to achieve zero pollution in the fields of energy, industry, mobility, agriculture, biodiversity and climate.

Five industry-driven circular and bioeconomy projects, BIOVEXO Project – Biopesticides to fight Xylella SUSBIND – SUStainable bio BINDers SUSFERT – SUStainable FERTtilisers SUSTAINair – Sustainable aerospace value chains TECH4EFFECT – precision forestry met on-line, during the 2021 EU Green Week,  to discuss how each of them would contribute towards achieving zero pollution in their respective fields.

TECH4EFFECT Co-ordinator, Rasmus Astrup, and Manager of Technology, Product Safety & IPR at Ponsse, Kalle Einola, presented possible scenarios in forest operations which could contribute to the goals of lower emissions.  Their presentations were followed by a panel discussion.
